Our history
Dulcioliva is a historic company founded in Piedmont in 1924 by two brothers: Luigi and Cesare Oliva. Thanks to an interesting collaboration and the experience gained working with Angelino Motta in Milan, in their first laboratory, located in Borgo San Dalmazzo, they perfected delicious confectionery recipes for Panettoni, Hazelnut Cakes, Biscuits, Chocolate Pralines and Gianduiotti.
Soon, the Oliva Brothers realized that among the many sweets in production, the 'Borghigiano' - a delicate praline made of a shell of dark chocolate with a soft filling of custard and rum cream - deserved special attention.
They decided to concentrate on this praline, improving the original recipe to lengthen the shelf life of the product without adding preservatives, managing to guarantee the freshness of the chocolate for a longer period: thus the 'Cuneese al Rhum' was born.

1st Generation
(1924-1960)
In 1940, the Oliva family expanded the paternal laboratory and extended the sale of its products throughout Italy. In the meantime, the sweet truffle was added to the original product. Obtained from the mixture of cocoa and finely ground Piedmontese hazelnuts, the truffles were made in compliance with an ancient family recipe.
Our specialties
These truffles were initially made in only two flavours, white and black, and offered a refined specialty whose shape and name recalled the traditional and prestigious product of the Langhe; over time the flavors have been expanded to introduce pistachio, nougat and coconut truffles.
From then until today, the company's history has been closely linked to that of the family: now in its third generation, represented by Giuseppe Oliva, grandson of the founder, the company has not changed its goal, which is to continue the business carrying the brand of the Oliva family, not only in Italy, but all over the world. The aim is to offer customers an increasingly complete and delicious assortment of chocolate-based products, with absolute respect for quality, consistency and tradition.

Our Quality
Located in Borgo San Dalmazzo, in the province of Cuneo, today Dulcioliva has a modern factory of 3000 m2 equipped with technologically advanced systems. Thanks to more than eighty years of experience in the confectionery sector, Dulcioliva has developed a dynamic company capable of combining the best recipes of the Italian tradition with the most modern production technology with the philosophy of creating authentic products in full compliance with the most advanced principles of safety and product quality.
The HACCP system has been in place since 1998 and is constantly monitored and reviewed. It’s company policy to produce without the use of artificial additives, hydrogenated vegetable fats and preservatives. All raw materials come from selected and consolidated suppliers who offer concrete guarantees on their quality and safety. In all our hazelnut-based products, the 'Tonda Gentile Trilobata' is the only variety of hazelnuts used, while in our Cuneesi al Rhum, only original Jamaican rum is used. The monitoring of the entire production chain allows traceability from the product to the raw material. All this, combined with an efficient commercial work, has brought us the trust of the best national and international customers, trust confirmed by obtaining the IFS and BRC certifications.
